Weaver Christmas Parade with Wife, Rhonda.

With the first three years of my term as Mayor behind me, I am proud of the accomplishments the Council and I have achieved. First and foremost, for the first time in history, Weaver has a web site to keep our citizens informed of day to day local operations.
New residential construction continues to grow at a record pace. Several new retailers have established businesses in Weaver and there are more in the negotiation process. We have made improvements in the park in landscaping, rest areas, and lighting. The new Skateboard Park is open and the construction of a BMX bicycle track in under way. After many years stagnant, the Anniston / Jacksonville Street reconstruction project is moving forward with an anticipated start date of spring 2008. We have contracted with CDG Engineers to conduct a Hydraulic study to evaluate our currant water needs and the most efficient direction to support future needs. Presently, we are reviewing plans for an additional well and tank to supply water to north Weaver.

We are seeing more and more citizens attending council meetings and offering suggestions to improve our community. I encourage anyone with an interest in Weaver to attend the council meetings and take part in guiding Weaver’s future. The council meetings are the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm. I look forward to meeting with you. If you cannot attend the meetings, I can be contacted at Weaver City Hall (256) 820-1121.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Wayne Willis, Mayor
